The Jay County softball team’s hitting problems emerged again Wednesday, and the defense wasn’t around either as the Patriots gave up 11 unearned runs to Huntington North in a 17-0 five-inning defeat.

Since being no-hit in back-to-back games, the Jay County softball team has bounced back nicely. The Patriots rallied for a win against the Marion in the second game of a double-header Saturday, and won back-to-back games for the first time with a 10-8 win over Muncie Southside Monday.

Danielle Michael scored a pair of victories Tuesday against New Castle and Muncie Southside, and was on the victory-sealing 1600-meter relay team as Jay County picked up a very tight 66-64 win over the Trojans. The Rebels placed third at the meet with 26 points.
