LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Thank you for supporting effort
To the editor: The family and friends of Mandy Theurer would like to thank the many people who in some way made the fundraising benefit event such a success.
Thank you for honoring Vicki
To the editor: Maybe for the first time in my life I am at a loss for words to expertly express the thoughts that I have in appreciation for Jay County Chamber of Commerce renaming the Lifetime Achievement Award in honor and memory of my dear departed wife of 51-plus …
Funds should go to public schools
To the editor: Jay Classroom Teachers Association and Jay School Board of Trustees are writing to express sincere concern for the direction our state leaders appear to be taking during the current legislative session.
Local venues need support
To the editor: I write to request that Congress create a grant program to support recreation, sports and amusement venues that provide live entertainment yet were excluded from "Shuttered Venue Operators Grants" program (Section 324 of Public Law No:116-260).
Tell legislators to vote against 1005
To the editor: The Republican supermajority in the Indiana General Assembly is attempting to prioritize private education benefiting fewer than 10% of students, while underfunding its constitutional duty of providing a system of common school open and available to all.
Opinions should not corrupt truth
To the editor: As I read Aaron Loy’s letter to the editor in the Feb. 17 edition of The Commercial Review, I found myself agreeing with much of what Mr. Loy expressed in his opinion.
Couple thankful for workers, neighbors
To the editor: It seems that every time you read the newspaper or watch TV, most of what you see is negative.
Support groups whenever possible
To the editor: Tri Kappa week is Feb. 21 through 27.
Minimum wage reasoning sound
To the editor: Twenty years ago, my beautiful wife and I decided to go to Groton, Connecticut, to see our grandson, Chris, who was stationed at the submarine base there.
Differing opinions are important
To the editor: Watching the news or scrolling through social media, one can see that we as a society have tunnel vision with our opinions and views.
We've given up critical thinking
To the editor: There was a fascinating column in the Sunday New York Times a couple of weeks ago, a portion of which I will share and offer an opinion thereon.
Former Jay teacher offers thanks
To the editor: As my husband Ed and I prepare to move to North Manchester, Indiana, I would like to take a moment to thank Jay County for the love and support of live theatre.
Yes, there should be accountability
To the editor: A recent Commercial Review editorial said that there should be accountability. I agree, but for totally different reasons.
Voting is most fundamental right
To the editor: The Republican party seems to be wanting to bring into existence a 21 century version of the poll tax, as if participating in and inciting an insurrection were somehow lacking in serving their agenda.
It’s reassuring to have hospital
To the editor: Reading Jack Ronald’s column about his coronavirus shot had me thinking about my episode with one this past week.
