Bids opened for basin

Portland Board of Works on Thursday opened bids for the construction of an equalization basin at the city’s wastewater treatment plant. There were no bids for a tandem project to build a wet weather pump station.

Airport to host meeting

Hal Tavzel, Portland’s airport manager, reported to Portland Board of Aviation at its final meeting of the year Wednesday that he was approached about Portland Municipal Airport hosting an Aviation Indiana quarterly meeting. It is scheduled for Aug. 15.

READI received more than 170 projects

READI 2.0 applications are due in late February. The East Central region has plenty of projects lined up for its application.

EDIT loan request tabled

A representative from Riya Hospitality asked the Portland Economic Development Income Tax (EDIT) Advisory Committee for a $219,573 loan Monday to help with extending a sewer line to the former Budget Inn.
