Another insurance option reviewed
Jay County Commissioners have a decision to make regarding health insurance. Commissioners heard from another insurance broker and third-party administrator during a special session Friday.
Budget is set
Jay County Council approved the 2025 budget Wednesday on a second reading.
Loan approved
Travis Richards, executive director of Jay County Development Corporation, presented the loan request from Fifer Services. He explained that the loan would have an eight-year term. If the company reaches specified goals, including hiring additional employees, 75% of the loan would be forgiven.
County looks at option for insurance
Michael Harmon, a representative of ParetoHealth, shared details about his company’s work with helping groups to partially self-fund their employees’ health insurance.
Easement approved at Cooper load-out
Fort Recovery Village Council authorized village administrator Randy Diller to execute an encroachment easement with Cooper Farms for its feed load-out area along Railroad Street.

Resolution approved
Jay School Board during a special meeting Monday approved a resolution allowing superintendent Jeremy Gulley to act on its behalf in regard to the response to the Sept. 22 tornado that hit Jay County Junior-Senior High School.
A golden opportunity
Jay County Wrestling Club athletes spent about 40 minutes Saturday afternoon learning from Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle, who went on to have a career in professional wrestling and was the featured attraction for the evening’s Delaware County Championship Wrestling Invasion V event at Jay Community Center.
Students to return Monday
Jay School Corporation early Friday afternoon announced that Jay County Junior-Senior High School will return to in-person learning Monday after a week away from the building that was damaged in the Sunday evening tornado.
