Options reviewed

During a work session Monday, Jay School Board members brought up or heard questions regarding the food service area, tennis courts, track and stadium grandstand as part of a discussion about a potential capital improvement project at Jay County Junior-Senior High School.

Project planning

Athletic practice space. Electrical. Food service. HVAC. Performing arts areas. Pool equipment. Stadium grandstand. Water mains. All of those areas and others will be among those Jay School Board will discuss Monday during a work session dedicated to looking at potential capital improvements for Jay County Junior-Senior High School.

FR Schools accept bid

Fort Recovery School Board accepted a $870,000 bid Friday from Smith-Boughan Mechanical Service Solutions of Lima, Ohio, for replacing HVAC equipment at Fort Recovery Elementary and Middle School.

School finances have continued to show growth. The Jay School Corporation Board of Finance on Monday received its annual report showing the education and operations funds with balances of $8.2 million and $6.4 million, respectively.

Going mobile

Students and teachers displaced by the September tornado will have a new — temporary — home. Jay County Junior-Senior High School will begin utilizing mobile classrooms Monday when they return from the Thanksgiving break.

Board OKs raises, contract

During an eight-minute meeting Monday, Jay School Board approved a collective bargaining agreement with Jay Classroom Teachers Association that calls for average raises of 7% and OK’d increases for other staff.

Mobile, virtual

Mobile units will be used to replace 10 classrooms lost in last month’s tornado.

FRLS reviews long-term needs

Fort Recovery Local Schools is putting together a long-term plan for repairs at its facilities over the next 25 years.
