Renna Schwieterman claimed the top spot on The Commercial Review’s list of the biggest sports stories for the second year in a row for becoming the all-time leading scorer across boys and girls basketball in Jay County history.

Sophie Saxman nailed 10-of-12 free throws (83.3%) for the Jay County High School girls basketball team as it took out its sectional rival, the Yorktown Tigers, 49-37 Tuesday.
Winner, Rowles place at Findlay Invitational
Top-ranked Mallory Winner and No. 9 Katie Rowles both made the podium to drive the Jay County High School girls wrestling team to a 20th-place finish at the Findlay Invitational on Friday at the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex.

Isaac Andrews delivered Raiders fans a gift of 25 points for Class 2A No. 1 Wapahani as it smoked the Jay County High School boys basketball team 59-24 Saturday.
Falls in the finals
The Class 2A No. 4 Jay County High School wrestling team pinned its way through the finals Friday, racking up six individual titles and pulling away for a dominant 51-point victory in the East Central Indiana Classic.

After a tough start from 3-point range for Owen Wanner, he stepped up with a big shot for the Starfires to tie the game. Too bad for him, Briggs Overman called game.
Top 10 finishes
Teigen Fortkamp won two events and Sage Wendel finished in the top 10 in four to lead the way for the Fort Recovery High School swim team in the Celina Sprints held at Jay County High School on Thursday.
Patch plays career-high
The 2020 Fort Recovery High School graduate, played a career-best 14 minutes for the Hillsdale College women’s basketball team on Saturday in a 58-49 loss to Malone University.
Rough ride
FORT RECOVERY — Wins haven’t come easy for the Indians this season and the losses haven’t been particularly close. Against the Roughriders, the Indians not only had a chance to win, but also had the ball with less than a minute left. The Indians just couldn’t get a shot up.
Close competition
The Jay County High School swim teams came out on opposite sides of close finishes Monday against the host Adams Central Jets. The depth of the girls team led it to a 101-68 victory while the boys were too short handed, falling 93-70.
Unstoppable at home
