An opening reception for the exhibit of the works of Thomas W. Abbott will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at Arts Place Portland Center.

Open houses to begin
The first open house of the season will be held on Sunday, Nov. 20, at Jay County Historical Museum, as part of Winterfest activities.
Free cooking class to be held
A free healthy cooking and exercise classes will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 11, for seniors 55 and older, at the Arthur and Gloria Muselman Wellness Pavilion at Swiss Village in Berne.

College bound students and their parents will receive help filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on College Goal Sunday.

The American Red Cross held a blood drive Tuesday at Jay Community Center with 85 donors.

The Main Street USA Craft Show will once again be held in Dunkirk.

Active Aging Week starts Sunday
Active Aging Week, for those 55 and older, will kickoff at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Arthur & Gloria Muselman Pavilion, a service/outreach of Swiss Village in Berne with an Olympic theme.
Jam scheduled in Geneva
The Limberlost Blue Grass Jamboree will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Limberlost State Historic Site in Geneva with former site manager Randy Lehman as the emcee.
