As part of the Jay County Reads program at Jay County Public Library, the public is invited to read “Shakespeare Saved My Life: 10 years in solitary with the Bard” by Laura Bates. Discussion of the book will be held at 7 p.m. on March 21, at the library.
Library has a free pass to state parks
In honor of Indiana’s Bicentennial and to spark interest in Indiana’s state parks, a free admission pass to all parks in the state is available at Jay County Public Library.

Mardi Gras café to be held in commons
The Jay County High School French Club will host its Mardi Gras Café from 5 to 7 p.m. today in the southwest corner of the commons. Home-cooked French food will be served at reasonable prices.
Harvest Land is offering ag scholarships
Students who are planning to study agriculture in college can apply for $1,000 Harvest Land Co-op Scholarships.
Speech winners will advance to county contest
An Optimist Oratorical Speech Contest was held recently at area schools.
Schools name spelling winners
