Activities to begin Sunday at Swiss Village
Active Aging Week will be celebrated at the Arthur and Gloria Muselman Wellness Pavilion at Swiss Village in Berne beginning Sunday and will continue through Oct. 2.
Meeting to be held at JCHS
The September program meeting of the Jay County Historical Society will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and feature “Native American Tribes of Jay County: The Miami and Other Tribes” by Ed Paxson and Dr. Kevin Nolan.
Military vehicle show scheduled
The Indiana Military Vehicle Preservation Association and the Museum of the Soldier in Portland are hosting the 2015 Military Vehicle show on Friday and Saturday at Jay County Fairgrounds.
Open house will be Saturday at center
Jay County Retirement Center will host an open house Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tickets available at Arts Place
Season tickets are available for the Hall-Moser Theatre “A Night on the Town” Performance Series at Arts Place in Portland, and will include six shows.

Limberlost hosting event
A Twilight Adventure will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Loblolly Marsh Nature Preserve.
Painting class to be held at Arts Place
A Glass and Palette class “Paint Like Van Gogh” will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Arts Place. 131 E. Walnut St. in Portland.
Pack the Park to be held September 12
The Midwest Pet Refuge will host its second annual Pack the Park event on Saturday, Sept. 12 at Hudson Family Park in Portland. Activities will be held from 10 a.m. to midnight and will include food, drinks, games, vendors and entertainment.
Jay-Randolph awards set
Jay-Randolph Developmental Services will celebrate the accomplishments of its clients, staff, volunteers and collaborating partners at its Annual Awards Celebration in September.
Genealogy workshops scheduled
Jay County Public Library and Jay County Historical Society are sponsoring two genetic genealogy workshops on Sept. 12 in Portland.
Used book sale starts Thursday
Friends of the Library Annual Used Book Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Jay County Public Library.
