Portland Board of Aviation learned Wednesday that the planned apron expansion project at Portland Municipal Airport is on track to start as scheduled in August and that a Federal Aviation Administration grant has come through to begin design of runway pavement improvements.

Hal Tavzel, Portland’s airport manager, reported to Portland Board of Aviation at its final meeting of the year Wednesday that he was approached about Portland Municipal Airport hosting an Aviation Indiana quarterly meeting. It is scheduled for Aug. 15.
CIP approved
Aviation board OKs plan with no changes
Portland Board of Aviation made quick work of its meeting Wednesday, approving its capital improvement plan for submission to the Federal Aviation Administration with no changes from what had previously been discussed.
