To the editor: On July 11, 2022, The Commercial Review’s front page story was about Robert Lyons and my father, Tom Zimmerman. Both were honored for their years of service on the Jay County Fair Board. Prior to the announcement, I was aware that it was going to happen. Dad’s name was eventually added to the maintenance barn.

To the editor: On April 24, President Joe Biden signed into law a $95 billion package of military and humanitarian foreign aid for Ukraine, Israel/Gaza and Taiwan. The largest component of the bill is $61 billion in support of Ukraine in resisting Russia’s invasion. The aid goes primarily to U.S. weapons manufacturers to build back U.S. weapon supplies that will be sent to Ukraine (about 20% of the funding is for direct financial support).

As you may know, and hopefully you were able to witness it yourself, on April 8 at 3:08 p.m. there was a total solar eclipse and Berne was in the path of totality, meaning the moon completely covered the sun for four minutes.
