Are you the new Rick Reed? That’s a question Andrew Balko and I have heard from folks multiple times while covering Randolph County sporting events over the last few weeks. The answer is yes, and no.
We’re raising a journalism army
Anyone who has been to a Jay County High School wrestling match or tournament will understand what I’m talking about. If you’re chatting with one coach and turn around, you’ll see a few more. Another pair will be on the mat shouting instructions to a wrestler. A few more will be spread across the gym.
We’re looking for our next columnist(s)
In the short term, you’ll see a variety of columns filling this space. You may see me here again. You may see Hank Nuwer, who writes the “Far From Randolph County” column that appears in The News-Gazette (Winchester). You may see a selection of national columnists. We’ll deal with it on a week-to-week basis. But we’d also like to know, would you like to be our next Family page columnist?
