Chelsea Crossland of Portland is led out of the elevator at Jay County Courthouse by Jay County Sheriff Ray Newton, with Patrick Wells of the sheriff's office following. Crossland was found guilty at the conclusion of a four-day trial of murdering her 5-year-old son. The jury subsequently voted to sentence her to life in prison without parole.
