Jay County High School assistant wrestling coach Troy Jacks chats with Katie Rowles after the seventh-ranked Patriot suffered a tough 4-3 loss to No. 6 Angelica Clay of Lakeland during the ticket round of the semi-state tournament Friday at Rochester. A win in the match would have sent Rowles to the state finals. Three Patriots — semi-state champion Mallory Winner, Emily Manor and Lina Lingo — went on to earn berths in the state finals, which will be contested Friday at Kokomo.
