The graphic above shows IREAD proficiency rates over the last five years for school corporations in The Graphic Printing Company’s coverage area, which includes Jay, Blackford and Randolph counties and eastern Delaware County. Monroe Central has cleared 90% each of the last five years, with Delaware Community reaching that milestone in each of the last three. Jay County’s best proficiency rate in that span was 88.8% in 2023-24.

Jay passage rate was down slightly overall; Bloomfield was among best in area at 95.8%
Reports this month noted historic increases in Indiana’s IREAD scores. The passage rate IREAD, which is designed to measure proficiency in reading for third graders, statewide increased by 4.8 percentage points to 87.3% for the 2024-25 school year. In The Graphic Printing Company’s coverage area, which includes nine school corporations, five came in above the state average.
