Jay County Country Living, formerly known as Jay County Retirement Center, has been the subject of discussion for years, with county officials contemplating whether to keep the facility open or shut it down. In the past, rainy day funds have been used to help keep it going. Jay County Commissioners voted this summer to shut down the facility by the end of 2026.
