Fort Recovery High School’s Alex Gaerke gets caught in a rundown with Summit Country Day’s Lucas Reder in the OHSAA Division VI Region 24 semifinal at Newton on Tuesday. While Gaerke eventually got tagged out, he was still a key piece in the 6-2 victory with one run, two hits, an RBI and stepping on third base to make three outs to end innings with runners in scoring position. The second-seeded Fort Recovery High School baseball team slowly built momentum after a tough first inning to beat the top-seeded Summit Country Day Silver Knights 6-2 in the OHSAA Division VI Region 24 semifinal hosted by Newton on Tuesday afternoon.
