A tree that uprooted during Wednesday evening’s storm just north of the entrance to Hines Inman Memorial Field fell across Western Avenue in Portland and caused a transformer to blow. Western Avenue was closed between Blaine Pike and Third Street on Wednesday night and residents on the south side of the city were without power for several hours. (The Commercial Review/Ray Cooney)

Downed tree took out power Wednesday

Though power was out in some areas of Jay County for several hours Wednesday night, damage was limited to fallen trees and branches.
