The second-seeded Fort Recovery High School baseball team walked off the No. 6 seed Legacy Christian Knights in the ninth inning with a double off of Post’s bat to claim its second consecutive district title in the OHSAA Division VI Southwest 3 District Championship game at Houston on Friday.

Podium ownership

Anna Roessner, a Fort Recovery High School senior, was a lot more than just a step faster than her competition, turning in another dominant effort as she won championships in the 100-meter dash, 200 dash and 400 dash during the Division III regional track meet at Troy.

The Jay County High School baseball battered New Castle in the 12th inning to pick up a 10-2 victory in the IHSAA Class 3A Sectional 24 opener hosted by Yorktown in a game that started at 9 p.m. Wednesday and finally came to an end at 1 a.m. Thursday.

John Coldren and Diane Wiley wed May 30, 1965. The Portland High School sweethearts have lived in Jay County for 56 years.

Tile replaced
