Resident says thanks for help

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:
I want to thank everyone who has been so kind and caring following my fall from a ladder.
To the emergency personnel who responded, the staff in the trauma department at Jay County Hospital, the emergency room and intensive care staff at IU Ball Memorial Hospital, Pastor Tim Dilley, all who sent cards, visited and brought us food, and those who kept me in their thoughts and prayers.
Some of the above-mentioned personnel I am relating through the help of my wife. I do not remember anything until I was being transported from Jay County Hospital’s ER by ambulance to the ER at IU Ball Health, even though my wife said I was talking to everyone constantly.
People do not realize the importance of all the medical personnel involved when something like this happens. My local doctor and the doctor in the ER at Ball said I was very lucky the fall did not kill me. I guess God had other plans for me at this time.
I want to especially thank my wife, Vicki, who has helped me more than I could imagine. This is one of the reasons people marry in life, to have support when you need it most.
Thank you my darling wife, Vicki.
Thank you all so much.
Thankfully, I am on the mend and my wife says I am not allowed to climb 25-foot extension ladders any more.
