Tribe golfers second at invite

CELINA, Ohio — The Fort Recovery High School girls golf team placed second Wednesday in the Mercer County Ladies Invitational at Mercer County Elks Country Club.
St. Henry won the six-team tournament with a 422. Fort Recovery had a team score of 443, and New Bremen was third with 466.
Trisha Thein was the only Tribe golfer to shoot in double digits, leading Fort Recovery with a 96. Tori Vaughn posted the No. 2 score with a 106. Cori Stone (120) and Emily Bruns (121) rounded out the team score.
Ellie Keller and Sophie Timmerman also competed for Fort Recovery, posting scores of 138 and 178 respectively.
Celina’s Kelly Stahl was the match medalist with a 93, beating Haleigh Staugler of St. Henry in a one-hole playoff.
