Jay given no respect

To the editor:
Comedian Rodney Dangerfield’s theme makes me think of the thumbing of the nose of the J-Star Farms of Ohio to Jay County, Indiana’s rules and regulations concerning confined animal feeding operations and building permit rules.
The J-Star owners from Ohio have reportedly already started construction of a more than two million chicken factory farm east of Portland without an approved building permit and required period of local tax payer public comment.
Apparently, the owners of this industrial livestock operation will not live near the CAFO that will likely require thousands of acres to spread the manure produced by two million chickens.
This seems to be another example of Jay County, as the place to pollute.
