A memorial service for Robert “Bob” Axe, 74, is 3 p.m. Sunday at Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland with Pastor Jim Nichols officiating.
A former Jackson Township resident, he died Dec. 13 at his home in Portland.
Born in Jay County to Lee Roy and Ora Frances (Frogge) Axe, he was a 1958 graduate of Poling High School.
He and his family owned and operated Axe Auto Service on county road 250 West in Jay County for many years. He had also worked at Portland Forge and FCC in Portland.
Memberships include the Vintage Motorbike Club, Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge and Sons of the American Legion Post No. 211, all of Portland.
Surviving are two daughters, Lori Fry (husband: Harry), Portland, and Diana Swingley (husband: Scott), rural Portland; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
