A chance to hear greatness
Editorial
Sometimes the only thing you can say is: Wow.
On Wednesday, famed pianist Paul Badura-Skoda performed a solo recital at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Tonight he performs the same program at Arts Place.
That's right.
Wednesday it's Carnegie Hall; tonight it's Arts Place in Portland.
Badura-Skoda has been touring for more than 60 years, performing in some of the world's greatest concert halls.
He's made hundreds of recordings.
And tonight he takes the stage at Arts Place.
The event is simultaneously an honor - it's his first ever performance in this area - and a tribute to the remarkable local institution that Arts Place has become.
Tonight's program begins at 7:30 p.m. and will include sonatas by Beethoven, Brahms, and Haydn. Remarkably, there may be tickets available at the door.
Check it out. It's a lot more intimate than Carnegie Hall. And it's right in our backyard. - J.R.[[In-content Ad]]
