Abatement OK'd for EPC
Geneva Town Council
GENEVA — The Geneva Town Council approved Tuesday a 10-year tax abatement on a planned $3 million expansion by Elkhart Products Corporation.
EPC plans to add another building to its facility and will bring in new equipment as well. The expansion will help to retain current jobs and is slated to bring at least 21 new jobs to the town.
The company secured a $120 million contract in December, which spurred the need to for growth at the Geneva site.
EPC officials said this estimated $3 million expansion is the second of three phases to build up the Geneva location. In 2008 Elkhart Products added capacity to bump up production from 6 million aluminum pistons to 8 million annually. The second phase will further increase that capacity to 12 million.
A third phase, estimated at $1.6 million, may begin in about two years.[[In-content Ad]]
