Absence was conspicuous
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
On Thursday, March 6, my husband and I went to Jay County High School to watch our granddaughter be inducted into the National Honor Society.
Our granddaughter and all the other inductees have worked hard for this prestigious honor and we couldn't be prouder of her and the other students.
Having said that however, we were very disappointed by the school administration. There was no one there. If that had been some kind of sports award program I feel sure that superintendent Dr. Tim Long or principal Phil Ford would have been there. Those kids worked just as hard as our athletes do for their awards.
The program started at 6:30 p.m., and we were home a few minutes before 7 p.m., so it wouldn't have taken up much of their time to recognize this major achievement.
Thank you,
Helen Miller
