Academy thanks supporters
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
The Portland Citizens’ Police Academy Alumni Association would like to thank Kyle Cook and Jay Community Center for allowing us to hold our annual bake sale during their Boomer Basketball Tournament on March 8.
We also thank everyone who made donations and/or purchased baked goods from us.
We are a non-profit organization and all monies raised are used to support needs in our community.
For example, we hope to present a $250 scholarship to a graduating senior who plans to major in criminal justice or law enforcement.
Our association also works with the Portland Police Department, helping youth have a better Christmas through the “Shop with a Cop” program.
Sincerely,
Pastor Steve Arnold
President
