Administrator hired for Red Gold grants (08/15/07)
Geneva Town Council
By By JENNIFER TARTER-
GENEVA - Town council members here approved the hiring of a grant administrator on Tuesday for a new 40-person housing building planned at Red Gold.
Milestone Ventures Inc. of Indianapolis was chosen as the administrator for the planned $350,000 grant from Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority.
This building will be one of two housing units the company plans to build at its Geneva site in the spring of 2008, town clerk-treasurer Doug Milligan said this morning.
The town is serving as the fiscal agent for Red Gold. None of the town's funds will be used for this project.
A second quote was submitted by Madison County Council of Government, Anderson, that submitted a quote of $14,700.
Milligan said that even though the town has worked with both companies on previous projects, Milligan said that he and Red Gold official Steve Austin chose Milestone because of their responsiveness and turn around time.
A second 40-person housing building planned at the Geneva site will be funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
There are currently three 80-person units constructed at the Geneva site. Each unit contains a laundry room and one handicapped accessible unit. These planned two separate units will house the same number of people as the larger buildings, Milligan said.[[In-content Ad]]
