Administrators deserve credit

Editorial

By RAY COONEY
President, editor and publisher

A letter to the editor came in early this week bemoaning the absence of any administrators at a recent National Honor Society induction at Jay County High School.
It ran in Thursday’s newspaper. It shouldn’t have.
Since the letter ran, we’ve learned that not just one but several school administrators were at the National Honor Society event.
We should have know better, and we should have checked before printing the letter.
We know administrators at the high school make an effort to be at as many student activities as possible. Unbeknownst to many, they frequently spend Saturdays driving from one event to another in an attempt to make sure they’re supporting the entire student body.
The administrators’ hard work, like that of those involved in athletics, the arts and all other school-related activities, should not be overlooked. —R.C.[[In-content Ad]]
