Advisers say thanks for FFA support
To the editor:
This year’s annual Jay County FFA Parent-Member banquet was a huge success. Thank you to all the area businesses and Jay county residents who donated in any way to our student work experience auction, and banquet. Special thanks are extended to Pete Shawver and his crew for auctioneering.
A great deal of gratitude is offered to the FFA Agriculture Advisory Board and the Purdue alumni who help cook the butterfly pork chops and help us through out the year with many events. Also thank you to the Jay County High School cafeteria staff that did an outstanding job preparing the rest of the meal.
Congratulations to John Howell who was named this year’s Honorary Member of the FFA. Many awards and scholarships were given at the banquet. Marissa Murrell was the recipient of the Redkey Vet Clinic Record Keeping Scholarship, given by Dr. Wasson and congrats to Lindsey Marchal, Zach Johnson, Edward Muhlenkamp, Kassie Cavanaugh, and Shelbi Louck for receiving the Michael A. Alig Memorial FFA Scholarship. These scholarships and many of the activities that the Jay County FFA participates in are all made possible only with the support and generosity of the community and staff at JCHS.
Last but certainly not least, we would like to say thank you to The Commercial Review for covering the event as well as other FFA activities throughout the year. We are extremely proud of the achievements and efforts of our FFA members. We hope that all who attended enjoyed the evening as we honored and acknowledged our current and past members. There is no other place like Jay County and every day we are reminded, “It is a Great Day to be a Patriot.”
Thank You for your continued support!
