Airman thanks Hilty for kindness
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
In response to the story, “Lemonade For Soldiers” dated June 30, 2011.
First of all, as an airman in the United States Air Force, I’d like to send a very big thank to Joe Hilty for his kind generosity. August 22 will be my 5-year anniversary in the United States Armed Forces.
Those of us who are deployed love receiving care packages and we appreciate it.
It feels like Christmas at times.
My name is Stashia Murphy and I’m currently deployed in Iraq.
This has definitely been an experience of a lifetime that I will not soon forget.
Thank you to everyone for all of your love and support as we defend our great nations freedom. My team asked to send popsicles.
We love those in this heat!
Respectfully,
Senior Airman

(Editor’s note: Murphy, a Jay County resident, was mailed a copy of the June 30 story by a member of her church, First Church of the Nazarene, Portland. She has not received a care package from the Hilty family, but members of her unit have.)[[In-content Ad]]
