Anna tops Tribe (09/25/06)

FORT RECOVERY - Another match against a state-ranked team spelled defeat for the Fort Recovery volleyball team Saturday.

The Indians dropped to 7-5 on the year with a 25-18, 25-17, 25-12 loss to the Division III No. 1 Anna Rockets. All five Tribe losses this year have come against state-ranked competition, including three squads with undefeated records.

Abby Niekamp paced the Indians against Anna (15-0) with team highs of 26 assists and four blocks. She also had five digs.

Tiff Gaerke totaled 14 kills and four blocks, and Lauren Wenning had nine kills and four blocks. Vicki Roessner finished with nine digs and four points, Joanna Snyder had nine kills and Rachel Stahl scored five points.

Junior varsity

Nicole Pottkotter paced the Indians as they took a 25-11, 25-22 victory over Anna.

Pottkotter racked up team highs of eight digs and five kills. She also had nine assists and three points.

Chelsea Klenke notched five kills and four points, Kelsey Wuebker put up 12 assists and Heather Schmackers scored nine points.[[In-content Ad]]
