Arts Place thanks supporters (11/28/07)
Letter to the Editor
To the editor:
Nearly 200 people attended the 25th Annual Holiday Benefit Auction at Arts Place where $15,874.00 was raised for programming and services such as Innovations, MusicWorks and Arts in the Parks. The auction is the kick-off event for the annual fundraising campaign.
A total of $200.00 of the proceeds will benefit students who would otherwise be unable to attend performances through the Ernie Loy Ticket Fund.
The success of the auction was attributable to many people and some we would like to recognize are:
The numerous businesses and individuals who donated sale items, door prizes and cash.
The many volunteers who solicited the donations.
Loy Realty & Auction, Doug and Gary Loy and staff for providing the auctioneering services.
Delta Theta Tau Sorority for ALL of their help both for setting up and running items on Friday.
Pam Schemenaur for baking dozens and dozens of cookies.
Hamburglar, provided by McDonald's of Portland.
Pickle, provided by Greazy Pickle.
Arts Place Board of Directors and Tyson Foods, Lisa Barnett, for preparing the food, The First Merchants Bank for sponsoring our reception, Jay County Beverage, Ted Miller, Cheryl Miller and Tracy Braun for their generous donations to the refreshments.
The Flower Nook for the donation of a Norfolk Pine for our raffle, which was won by Andrew Briggs, Geneva, Indiana.
Wine Stewards - Jim Burk and Cindy Schmiesing
Greeters and Helpers - Sara Farris & Becky Hinkle
The staff of Arts Place.
And most importantly, the very enthusiastic & generous crowd who attended this year's auction. Please plan on attending next year and bringing a friend with you.
Sincerely,
Doug Loy & Becky Hinkle, Co-Chairs â¨
