Bailey joins race for county council (02/15/06)

Longtime former Democrat chairman Fredric L. Bailey filed today in the Jay County Clerk’s office for the May primary election for the District 3 Jay County Council seat.

A resident of 108 Green Park Drive, Portland, Bailey is seeking the seat held by Republican Judson Todd Wickey, who filed in January to retain his seat for the council seat that represents Wayne 1, Wayne 2, Wayne 3, and Wayne 7 precincts.

As the Feb. 17 deadline nears, several other residents filed since Tuesday for county township seats, including:

•Gary R. Glogas, 306 Arlington Ave., Dunkirk, Democrat, Richland Township Advisory Board.

•Dwain Michael, 8510 North 550 East, Bryant, Republican, Bearcreek Township Advisory Board.

•Alice L. Miller, 2656 East 300 North, Portland, Democrat, Bearcreek Township Advisory Board, and Bearcreek Township precinct committeeman.

•Sarah M. Davidson, 5183 North 450 East, Portland, Democrat delegate to the state convention.

•Terry LeMaster, 2764 West 75, South, Portland, Republican delegate to the state convention, and candidate for Republican precinct committeeman for Jefferson Township.

•Thomas Frye, 7450 E. Main St., Bryant, Republican precinct committeeman for Wabash Township.

•Ralph F. May, 7939 East 100 South, Portland, Democrat precinct committeeman for Noble Township.
