Bills ready soon? (08/08/2008)
The final pieces are in place and Jay County property tax bills could be in the mail as early as next weekend.
Jay County Auditor Nancy Culy received the last bit of information from the Department of Local Government Finance this week and is working to get everything set for billing.
"We do have the rates in the computers," she said. "We are planning on getting the tax bills out this month."
The due date on the first payment has not yet been decided.
Employees in the treasurer's office said the due date for the first payment will likely be sometime in September and that they hope to have the bills printed and in the mail by next weekend.
