Some old playground equipment at two city parks may be replaced next year.
A city official told Portland Park Board members during a brief meeting that he and the parks superintendent would like to replace the playground equipment at Milton Miller and Weiler-Wilson parks.
Assistant street and parks department superintendent Doug Blankenbaker said Monday night that he expects to get quotes or bids for the new equipment next year.
In a related matter, Blankenbaker said he also would like to trade in one of the street and parks department's five lawnmowers and buy a new one next year.
Also Monday, Blankenbaker announced that all of the restroom and water facilities at city parks have been prepared for winter.
The restrooms have been closed and the water has been turned off.[[In-content Ad]]
