Board president gives response
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
If you were the governing body that is directly responsible to the taxpayers for a museum, I personally don’t believe it would be an outlandish expectation for the curator of the museum to work on Saturdays. Especially, since Saturdays are the most busy tour days.
I also believe the curator of any museum should do cataloging of museum items, in order to keep an accurate record and accounting of all museum items. Especially, if it is clearly listed in the curator’s job description.
As to unethical behavior, I believe any citizen, who believes a functioning body who is responsible to the taxpayers, has acted in an unethical manner has a responsibility to report it. I believe such a citizen has a responsibility to step up, be specific, and report (with proof) that unethical behavior.
It is very easy, in my opinion to make broad statements and accusations without proof or action. It is also my opinion that broad statements and accusations without proof or action show and reflect no merit.
I believe any employee is most valuable to the employer when they accept the responsibilities of their job and accomplish them.
Respectfully, Exercising My Freedom of Speech,
Tommy “Chip”

In agreement
To the editor:
Thank you, Mr. Ronald for your attendance to the Dunkirk library board meeting and for your recent editorial concerning that meeting. I totally agree as do many others that I have spoken with. However, I am quite certain that the board members do not.
Those who try to deceive others only deceive themselves.

A big thanks
To the editor:
Thank You Dunkirk. A big thank you goes out to Mayor Dan Watson, Tom Johnson, Jack Robbins, Lisa Street, The News and Sun and everyone that volunteered to help.
Thank you to Phonnie for all her support at the city building.
The community makeover is about reaching out to our neighbors and doing projects in a group to make a difference in our community.
Next year we would love to have more volunteers. We would like to make this an annual project.
Thanks to our sponsors, Patriot Sportswear & Embroidery, Patriot Fitness, both of Portland; Pak-A-Sak; SDP; Verallia Local 121; Moose 1352; Pastor Tammy Phillips, First American Baptist Church; and the Rev. Mary Dobson, Plymouth United Church of Christ.
Thank you to everyone who participated. It couldn’t have been done without you.
