Brunswick leads Edison
Collegiate Check-up
A former Indian made the most of her final game of 2011.
Kendra Brunswick, a 2011 Fort Recovery High School graduate, fell just short of a triple-double Saturday for the Edison Community College Chargers.
Brunswick’s effort came as she buried four 3-pointers on the way to scoring 16 points in a 67-64 loss to Schoolcraft College. She also grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out eight assists.
The freshman ranks third for Edison (5-3) in scoring at 11.1 points per game and leads the squad in free-throw percentage (84.6). She also averages 5.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.

Jay County – 2010
Led the Huntington University women’s basketball team Saturday to its second consecutive win, 66-62 over Rio Grande.
Speed hit one 3-pointer and powered the Foresters (6-4) with 16 points. She also had a team-high four assists to go along with two rebounds and a steal.
Greg Kahlig
Ft. Recovery – 2010
Was one of five players to score in double figures Saturday for the NCAA Division II No. 9 University of Findlay men’s basketball team in its 75-63 victory over Saginaw Valley.
Kahlig shot 50 percent from the field on the way to a 10-point effort. He also had five rebounds, two steals and one assist for the Oilers (7-2).
The sophomore finished with four points, three assists and two rebounds in a 75-69 loss to Hillsdale on Dec. 8.
Brandon Reynard
Jay County – 2009
Was part of a relay victory for the Indiana Tech men’s track team Dec. 2 at the Grand Valley State University Early Bird meet.
Reynard teamed with D’Quan Ruth, Jordan Foster and Austen Barnes to win the 4x400-meter relay by more than a second over Central Michigan in 3 minutes, 15.89 seconds. He also placed third in the 400 dash in 50 seconds flat.
Joanna Snyder
Ft. Recovery – 2009
Helped the Ohio Northern University women’s basketball team to a 67-55 win Saturday over John Carroll.
Snyder finished 4-for-4 at the foul line and scored six points for the Polar Bears (8-1). She added three assists and a pair of rebounds.
Dexter Shreve
Jay County – 2009
Won the 60-meter dash portion of the heptathlon Saturday as his Kent State University men’s track team hosted the Golden Flash Gala.
Shreve turned in a time of 7.09 seconds to win the first heptathlon event. Also in the heptathlon he was fifth in the high jump at 6 feet, 5 inches, 11th in the long jump (20 feet, 11 ¼ inches) and 16th in the shot put (32 feet, 3 ½ inches).
Cori Vormohr
Jay County – 2009
Turned in a second-place finish for the undefeated Ball State University women’s swim team Saturday in a 182-108 victory over Michigan State.
Vormohr was in the middle of a top-three sweep for the Cardinals, who are 5-0 in dual meets and have won the IUPUI House of Champions meet and the Doug Coers Invitational, finishing as the runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1 minute, 7.27 seconds. She was also fifth in the 200 breaststroke in 2:27.76, and teamed with Elaine Pitsas, Katie Saulman and Katie Balko for fourth in the 200 medley relay in 1:51.18.

Hit is only field-goal attempt Saturday in the Huntington University men’s basketball team’s 106-92 loss to Saint Xavier.
