Brunswick puts up 20 again

Kendra Brunswick has been a scoring machine.
The 2011 Fort Recovery High School graduate broke the 20-point mark for the fourth straight game Wednesday, racking up 23 to lead the Edison Community College women’s basketball team to a 76-68 victory over Owens.
Brunswick shot 9-of-16 from the field with one 3-pointer and four free throws en route to her game-high total. She also grabbed a team-best 13 rebounds while adding five assists and two steals.
The sophomore narrowly missed a triple-double on Saturday, finishing with 21 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists as the Chargers topped Columbus State 89-82. She shot 11-of-14 from the line and also had two assists.
Brunswick, who had a career-high 29 points om Jan. 23 against Sinclair and scored 27 on Jan. 19 against Cuyahoga County, leads Edison (12-4, 3-2 Ohio Community College Athletic Conference) at 17.8 points and 4.7 assists per game. She is shooting 49 percent from the field, and also averages 4.6 rebounds.
Brandon Reynard

Was part of a record-breaking relay for the Indiana Tech men’s track team Friday at the SPIRE Midwest Indoor Open in Geneva, Ohio.
Reynard and Warrior teammates Drew Mueller, Matt Adair and Nick Radionoff shattered the previous school record by 10 seconds as they finished fourth in the distance medley relay in 10 minutes, 10.41 seconds. Their time ranks fifth nationally in the NAIA this season.

Was named the Huntington University Athlete of the Week on Monday after averaging more than 20 points in the Forester women’s basketball team’s games against Marian and Grace.
Speed highlighted her award-winning week with 24 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal as HU (14-10) defeated Grace 62-43 on Saturday. She shot 60.7 percent for the week, including 10-of-15 against Grace, and ranks 21st in NAIA Division II at 52.4 percent for the year.
The junior also had 10 points, five assists, three rebounds and two steals Wednesday as the Foresters fell just short in a 56-54 loss to top-ranked Indiana Wesleyan.
Jordan McMillan
Jay County – 2011
Turned in a top-five finish for the Ball State University women’s track team Saturday at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational.
McMillan placed fifth for the Cardinals in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.9 seconds. She was also eighth in 8.14 in the 60 dash.
Joanna Snyder
Fort Recovery – 2009
Led the NCAA Division III No. 6 Ohio Northern University women’s basketball team in rebounds Saturday in a 61-44 victory over Marietta.
Snyder grabbed 10 rebounds for the Polar Bears, who are now 19-1 overall and 13-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. She also had eight points and one steal.
The senior added five points, five rebounds, two steals and one assist in Wednesday’s 65-42 win over Otterbein.
Cori Vormohr
Jay County – 2009
Turned in a second-place finish Friday for the Ball State University women’s swim team, which defeated Evansville 135-105.
Vormohr was the runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle by just two hundredths of a second to Evansville’s Abby Smith. She also teamed with Jillian Bischoff, Dana Graunke and Mallory Przybylinski for third in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:40.76.
Neal Fennig

Also competed against Evansville on Friday to help the Ball State men’s swim team to a 150-81 victory.
Fennig was fifth for the Cardinals both the 200-yard freestyle in 1 minutes, 48.89 seconds, and the 500 freestyle in 5:00.23. He joined Austin Goodman, Nick Stevens and Andy Lamb for a fourth-place time of 3:19.61 in the 400 freestyle relay.
Greg Kahlig

Paced the University of Findlay men’s basketball team in scoring Saturday as it defeated Malone 74-62.
Kahlig hit a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 14 points to lead the Oilers (13-5, 10-4 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference). He also had six rebounds, four assists and three steals.
The junior totaled 11 points, five rebounds, one assist and one block Jan. 24 in a 67-65 win over Walsh.
Dexter Shreve

Picked up a fifth-place finish Saturday for the Kent State University men’s track team at the Redbird Invitational hosted by Illinois State University.
Shreve’s top effort came in the 60-meter hurdles as he posted a time of 8.67 seconds for fifth place. He was also sixth in the pole vault at 13 feet, 1½ inches, and 13th in the 200-meter dash in 24 seconds flat.
Kylie Kahlig

Was one of four players to score in double figures Saturday as the University of Northwestern Ohio women’s basketball team defeated Lawrence Tech 77-63.
Kahlig made all of her four free-throw attempts on the way to finishing with 10 points. She also had four rebounds and one assist.
The freshman totaled three rebounds and two points Tuesday as the Racers (9-15, 6-10 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference) fell 70-57 to Madonna.
Eme Miller

Competed Saturday for the Defiance College women’s swim team, which finished third at the four-team Heartland Invitational hosted by Franklin.
Miller’s best individual effort came in the 100-yard backstroke as she placed fifth in 1 minute, 11.6 seconds. She was sixth in the 200 backstroke in 2:29.04 and the 200 individual medley in 2:27.43.
The freshman also joined Jacqueline Loock, Brittany Pease and Nichole Tank for a time of 2:09.44 to place fourth in the 200 medley relay.

Helped the University of Northwestern Ohio men’s basketball team to an 84-50 victory Saturday over Lawrence Tech.
Pottkotter scored five points, and also had five rebounds for the Racers (12-10, 8-7 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference). He had one rebound as UNOH defeated Madonna 80-73 on Tuesday.
Katie Simmons

Ran for the host Mastodons women’s track team Saturday at the IPFW Quadrangular.
Simmons turned in her best finish in the 3,000-meter run as she placed eighth in 11 minutes, 14.44 seconds. She was also 12th with a time of 5:43.16 in the mile run.

Played for the NAIA Division II No. 14 Bethel College women’s basketball team Wednesday in its 68-52 victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene.
Hunt made her only field-goal attempt in four minutes of play and finished with two points, one rebound and one steal. She also saw three minutes of action as Bethel fell 68-65 to Taylor on Saturday.

Competed for the Bethel College men’s track team at Saturday’s NAIA vs. NCAA Division III meet at Olivet Nazarene.
