'Bulldog Memories' theme of parade
Editor's Mailbag
By To the editor:-
The parade committee of the Pennville Fair Board would like to invite alumni of the original county schools to participate in our parde on Saturday, July 10 at 3 p.m. Each school is encouraged to organize a float, decorate a car or however they choose to show their school spirit and rivalry reminiscent in our theme, “Bulldog Memories — a 50 year Celebration.”
Dunkirk Speedcats, Redkey Wolves, Gray Redbirds, Madison Township Tomcats, Bryant Owls, Poling Yellow Jackets and Portland Panthers, dig out those old uniforms, cheerleader outfits, pom-poms or other school memoribilia and join the Pennville Bulldogs for a fun time.
Register “under the tree” in front of the Pennville School by the old parking lot on Green Park Avenue. Registration begins at 2 p.m., with line-up at 2:30 p.m.
We acknowledge that even the youngest graduates of some of these schools are now celebrating their “senior” years (again) but we challenge you to be inventive in assuring that your school is represented.
The parade is open to anyone and everyone. The categories for judging are:
•Best decorated bike, boy or girl
•Best theme float (Bulldog Memories)
•Horse and rider
•Walker
•Best auto entry
•Best family float
•Best group or organization
•Best business
•Best marching band
•Best emergency vehicle
•Best overall
Thank you in advance for your efforts. We look forward to you joining our celebration of community spirit.
Ron Paxson, Marla Coleman and Michelle Michael, the parade committee of the Pennville Fair Board
