Can't keep up

Editor's Mailbag

By To the editor:-

I find it difficult to keep up with all the rhetoric surrounding the up-coming elections. I know from conversations with folks in my travels, there are a lot of you that are unable to keep up as well. Here is a basic fly over of some topics that I would like for you to know before voting on Nov. 2.

First of all, a Kerry/Edwards presidency will not miraculously cause people like Christopher Reeves to get up out of their wheel chairs and walk. John Kerry is against the war; for the war; against the war; for the war. I’m a little dizzy but I think he has now said that he was always for the war.

President Bush did not ban stem cell research. He in fact is the only U.S. President who has provided funding for, yes for, stem cell research. Yes I saw you Michael J. Fox, sitting next to the catsup queen (Teresa, with an s, Heinz-Kerry) at that last presidential debate.

How about some slight of hand here at the state level. Did you know Senator Bayh did not vote with our Senator Lugar to proceed with a marriage amendment, even though we know that his switchboard was overloaded with constituents asking him to do so?

What’s this? You mean to tell me that Governor Kernan and the robot are pro-choice and see no problem providing funding for on demand abortions? Is there no shame? That’s our tax money. No Joe, there is no danger of overpopulating the world. What's actually happening is around the world almost every human being has access to a television set and is being force fed the notion that you can do better in life with fewer children. Gee, thanks Hollywood.! Guess Kerry was right when he declared all of you Holly weird nut jobs the “heart and soul of American values.” Gov. Kernan has even appointed a Planned Parenthood abortionist to an important position at Indiana University. That sends a great message to our kids doesn’t it?

There is some confusion at the local level as well. Thank you for your service Ron Liggett but we did NOT ask for that bill you attempted to pass. You remember don’t you? HB 1684. The one that includes the line: “Makes it unlawful to discriminate based on marital status or sexual preference.” What? Sexual preference? So what you are saying here Ron; is that if a gay or lesbian apply for a Sunday school teacher position at my church, and we don’t hire them because of their sexual “preference”, then we are breaking the law? But Ron, the Bible is pretty clear on that subject don’t you think? Why must we accept someone’s “sexual preference”? No thank you Mr. Liggett!

It’s just mind boggling folks, there are so many lies and deceptions that it’s hard to sort through. The very fact that there are many democrats voting republican this year ought to tell you something. Sort through the lies folks. Don’t believe everything Dan Rather tells you.

Vote family values on Nov. 2. Vote straight Republican.
