Car club: Thanks for show support

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:

The Arch Bridge Kroozers would like to thank all the participants and all of those who attended our springtime Kroozen the Courthouse - making it one of our best shows ever. A very big thank you to Aker-Taylor.

We would also like to thank all of those who donated trophies and door prizes for the show, and a special thank you to the city of Portland and the businesses that allowed us the use of their parking facilities.

Thanks to our two major sponsors this year, Harmon's Chevrolet Parts and Muncie Dragway.

See you May 21, 2011.

Jim Grafmiller, for the Arch Bridge Kroozers Car Club

Freshman thanks

To the Editor:

A "Freshman Day" at Jay County High School took place on May 14, 2010. This was not a "free day" for freshmen; rather, it celebrated their hard work and accomplishments.

The accomplishment was that they had collected over $3800.00 for four Jay County organizations, which the students chose. Because they had accomplished such a good deed, they listened to a guest motivational speaker, had a cookout, and were able to dance, walk or swim in the afternoon as part of the pledge money they received.

We would like to thank our freshmen for all the money they collected as well as the individuals and local businesses who were so generous with their donations. We would also like to thank all the people at the high school who made this event possible.

The Freshman Academy - Joni Aulbach, Chuck Bihn, Dennis Dwiggins, René Haines, Kim Homan, Chrissy Krieg, Krista Muhlenkamp, Dan Orr, Alice Poole, Margaret Ralph, Vickie Reitz, Kim Rose, Lea Selvey, and Dolphus Stephens.[[In-content Ad]]
