Cavs defeat Indians

FORT RECOVERY - The Fort Recovery High School volleyball team lost 25-13, 25-23, 25-22 Monday to the Lehman Catholic Cavaliers, who finished 11th this week in the Division IV poll voting by the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association.

Nicole Pottkotter had 12 assists, six digs and four blocks for the Indians (6-7), who have dropped six of their last seven matches. Emily May added 14 digs and four points.

Holly Brunswick recorded eight kills, and Chelsey Leuthold added five.

Josie Guggenbiller and Carly Staugler each scored four points.

Junior varsity

The Tribe improved to 8-4 with a 29-27, 25-20 win over Lehman Catholic.

Nichole Kaiser paced the victory with 13 points and five kills. Ericka Lennartz added seven kills and six digs.

Kayla Kahlig put up 16 assists, Abby Backs had 11 digs and Holly Thien finished with nine points.[[In-content Ad]]
