Celebrate sanctity of life (01/14/08)

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:

Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country (remember this sentence from typing class?)

January is Sanctity of Human Life month. Now, more than ever, is our time to start making a difference.

Believing that life begins at conception and ends when our Lord calls us home, The Pregnancy Care Center of Jay County is ready to lead the charge in respecting all human life.

God allows our volunteers to serve on the front lines and see new life developing daily; we come to you with a plan. First, pray that all life will be considered precious, then start proclaiming your true beliefs. We can help you make a difference. Second, we have sent letters to all pastors in our county with information on wonderful items available to their congregations. We have invited the pastors to stop by, visit and pick up any items that will help them promote The Sanctity of Human Life Month (a sample packet is free to anyone wishing to make a difference).

Offered for your consideration are the beautiful precious feet label pins, memory luminary bags, bulletin inserts, pencils, buttons and brochures that tell the story of life. Everything is pro-life, making it useful for any project or display that you might have in mind.

Third, feel free to stop by Pregnancy Care Center (111 W. Main Street in Portland) and see what you can use to make that difference in your life.

Always remember, the center receives no federal or state money to provide our services free and confidential to anyone in need.

Any donations will be appreciated. These will help in the pro-life battle.

Let us come together in spirit as one family and celebrate life as God intended.

Together we can make Jay County a great place to begin life and a wonderful place to call home.

Jan. 22, 2008 marks the 35th anniversary of Roe v Wade. A total of 50 million babies have been aborted in the United States alone in the last 35 years.

In Christ's love,

Patty Johnston, director,

Pregnancy Care Center of

Jay County

Big thanks

To the editor:

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many organizations that were so generous to our facility during the holidays.

A big thank you to the Fort Recovery Church of the Nazarene. They were so kind to purchase individual gifts for all of our 97 residents. We realize this was quite a task. The residents and their families certainly appreciated it.

Thanks also to Tri-Kappa for their donation to purchase activity room chairs for the residents.

Thanks to all the area churches that visited and sang Christmas carols.

Thanks also to the Veterans Association, the Stitch and Chatter Quilt Club, and the Salvation Army for their gifts.

We also want to thank the families of our residents for all the homemade goodies during the holiday season.

We have such a giving community that we are so proud to say is home.

Sincerely,

Lea Ann Loy, administrator, for the staff and residents of Persimmon Ridge Rehabilitation Centre[[In-content Ad]]
