Celebration of Lights next week
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
This is an invitation to our Jay County community to join the Jay County Hospital Auxiliary for our 19th annual Celebration of Lights. The lighting ceremony will be held Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Jay County Hospital cafeteria. There will be entertainment and refreshments.
The proceeds from this year’s sale will be used to complete the Auxiliary Garden under construction for the LifeBridge unit. You will have the opportunity to tour the new LifeBridge garden, weather permitting.
LifeBridge Senior Behavioral Health Unit is an inpatient program that provides diagnostic and treatment services for the aging adult population in Jay County and the surrounding areas. Patients may be dealing with issues of depression, dementia, paranoid behavior or other emotional or mental health problems. Many families have benefited from LifeBridge services. Patients are provided support, structure and therapy needed to attain the highest possible quality of life.
Purchasing a light is a way to honor a friend, remember an anniversary or birthday, or as a memorial for a loved one. Names of the honorees will appear in the program at the lighting ceremony. Lights may be purchased for $5 per name or couple; $100 per strand of lights; or $300 for an entire tree. You still have time to make your donation. Forms are available at the hospital, area banks and many businesses in Jay County. You may also call Betty Krieg, director of hospital volunteers, at (260) 726-1878.
What a beautiful sight it is when all the lights are turned on. It’s a great way to start your holiday season. Come join us.
