Cemetery caretakers thanked
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
We would like to thank the persons responsible for mowing and trimming Gravel Hill Cemetery west of Bryant. You do a terrific job.
The cemetery looks beautiful and so peaceful with all the flowers. The lawn was well kept and trimmed. Thanks for all that you do.

Glass thanks
To the editor:
Another successful Glass Days is in the books. This is not just “another carnival,” but a celebration of Dunkirk’s proud heritage.
I would like to take the time to thank the Glass Days Committee — Mike and Tami Duquette, Cindy and Autumn Shephard, Holly Knight, Deb Fulk, Paul Shick, Debbie White, Karen Hitchins, Rick Wayman, Jennifer Castle, Miranda Collings, Valorie Ridgeway and Rae Sheary. This group of folks has devoted many hours of hard work and planning to bring this celebration to you.
I also wish to thank the city employees for their hard work during and after the festival. A thank you also to the city administration for its support and help, and to the merchants for their support and any inconvenience they may suffer during the event.
Last, but certainly not least, a special thank you to all who attended and supported this successful Glass Days celebration. Without your support and attendance, it would all be for naught.
Looking forward to Glass Days 2014.
Dan Watson,
Mayor of Dunkirk
Invitation
To the editor:
Do you play in a band? Do you love to sing? Do you dance? Do you juggle or have a comedy act? If the answer is yes, then you should consider entering the “Stars in the Park” talent competition this summer.
The winner will receive $1,250.
Competition auditions will be held June 24 and 26-28 at the Jay Community Center.
Quarterfinals will be held July 18 and 25 and August 1 and 8. Semi-finals and finals will be held on August 16 — all at Hudson Family Park.
This exciting event is open to performers of all ages and they need not be from Jay County.
So, if you have talent or you know someone who should consider entering the competition, visit www.starsinthepark.com for audition forms and contest information and rules.
Or, call the Jay County Chamber of Commerce at 260-726-4481.
The audition application deadline is June 14.
