Center thankful for gift
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
The residents and staff of CrownPointe Communities would like to take this opportunity to thank Southern Thunder Fireworks on West Water Street in Portland for their generosity. They graciously donated a large amount of fireworks for the enjoyment of our assisted living residents and condo community.
It is generosity of merchants like this that helps make their lives more enjoyable.
Deb Gaskill, activity director, CrownPointe Communities
Sad comment
To the editor:
It is a sad commentary on our culture and the mainstream media that they have redefined the center so far to the left that a candidate like Richard Mourdock, who supports common sense Hoosier values, can be labeled an extremist, but a liberal like Joe Donnelly can get away with calling himself a moderate.
While Mourdock favors fiscally responsible, constitutionally limited government Beltway Joe has voted for almost every Obama Bailout/Stimulus and against Republican attempts to cut spending. He even voted against ending automatic spending increases.
Richard wants to end Obama-Care with government-funded abortion while Pelosi Joe voted for it despite opposition by 67 percent of Hoosiers.
“Moderate” Joe twice voted to make the most extreme left wing San Francisco liberal in the House, Nancy Pelosi, next in line after Biden to be President and voted with her 88 percent of the time.
Obama Joe voted to take the right to a secret ballot away from employees voting on Unionization.
And he voted to let Obama steal teacher pension money and give it to the UAW who paid for his election, while Mourdock and Daniels fought to stop the illegal give away.
As a liberal Senator Joe will vote for Obama’s anti-gun, pro-abortion Supreme Court Justices who only need one more vote to ban guns.
Joe voted to cut $500 billion from Medicare and end Medicare Advantage while Mourdock wants to save Social Security and Medicare with common sense reforms.
The true definition of Blue Dog is “Moderate Left-Wing Extremist.”
