Chamber: Thanks for poker run
Letters to the Editor
To the Editor:
On behalf of the Jay County Chamber of Commerce, I would like to thank all of the participants, donors, and committee members who made the 2011 Jay County Chamber of Commerce Norm Vinson Memorial Poker Run a great success. The 2011 Poker Run generated over $2,200.00 in proceeds, which is to be split between the Norm Vinson scholarship fund at the Portland Foundation and the Jay County Chamber of Commerce. These funds are crucial to the community for scholarships as well as for the Chamber’s mission of supporting local businesses. We would like to specifically thank the major donors which include Adair Processing, Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Bollenbacher & Associates, Burkhart Advertising, Coca-Cola Bottlers of Portland, Moser Engineering Inc., Moser Motors of Portland, Patriot Sportswear and Embroidery, Progressive Office Products, and Wampum Hardware. We would also like to thank those businesses that donated cash or product for the Poker Run they are:
AutoZone, Bank of Geneva, Bearcreek Farms, Benson’s Harley Davidson, Beyond the Gilded Willow, Bloom’s Discount Store, Buffalo Wings and Rings, CarQuest, Cook’s Nursery & Trim, Country Creek Primitives, Dalton & Co. Professional Cleaning Supplies, First Bank of Berne, First Merchants Bank, Holiday Inn Express, IDC Restaurant, Ja-Mar TV & Appliance, Inc., Jay County Beverage, Jay County REMC, Locker’s Touch of Country Gifts, NAPA, Oasis, Patriot Fitness, Pennville Fair Board, R & R Employment, Renegade Customs, Ridgeway Concrete & Gifts, True Value, WPGW, Joe Vinson and Ron and Lisa Bunch.
I would also like to thank the committee members who gave up a lot of time to make this year’s Poker Run a success. The committee members are, Toni Vinson, Joe Vinson, Tammy Jones, Cindy Adair, Tonya Chowning, Pat Miller, Mark Goldman, Michele Goldman, Faron Parr, Mandee Mikulski and Ron Bunch.
Finally, thank you to all those members of this great community who supported the poker run by your participation. We look forward to seeing you next year.

Winning thanks
To the editor:
Being the winner of the second annual Golf Cart Classic, I want to thank each of the merchants and the Jay County Chamber of Commerce for the neat and useful gifts.
The merchants were: Hapner Furniture and Carpet; First Bank of Berne; MainSource Bank; Moser Motors of Portland; True Value Hardware; State Farm Insur-ance/Kathy Subler; Cook’s Nursery and Trim; The Museum of the Soldier; Progressive Office Products and the Jay Community Center.
It was a joy putting the different and unusual courses at each participating location.
Thanks again.
