Cheerleaders, chamber say thanks
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
On behalf of the Jay County High School cheerleaders, we would like to thank the community for its continued support and encouragement during our state fair preview show.
This was our first year giving back to the community that gives so much to us, and through your support of monetary donations and “helping us can a victory” your contributions helped us raise $75 in donations with more than 200 canned food items. All of your donations went to support Jay County’s Helping Hand Food Bank.
The cheerleaders and coaches would also like to thank The Commercial Review and Ray Cooney for all they have done covering JCHS sports.
The Jay County High School cheerleaders
Coaches Mindy Weaver, Abby Champ, Andrea Oswalt and Jenni Stout, seniors Ericka Reynolds, Cydney Huey, Olivia Cash, Charis Beitler, Rachel Vogler and Brea Burcham, juniors Morgan Brown, Chelsea Russell, Carli Ostrowski, Alexis Murrell and Bryttani Knight, sophomores Sierra Trobridge, Menausha VanSkyock, Mallory Marshall and Madison Miller and freshmen Kayla Ferguson, Lauren Teagle, Alexus Liette, Whitney Lowe, Giannina Perod, Leearah Eldridge, Kylie Ring and Samantha Link

On behalf of the Jay County Chamber of Commerce, we would like to thank everyone who had a part in making the Norman Vinson Memorial Poker Run a great success. Since that time, the Chamber has sponsored the Poker Run in his memory and has donated a portion of the proceeds to Norm’s scholarship fund in The Portland Foundation.
A special thanks to sponsors: 1 Shot Sports, Adair Processing, Baird Freeman Funeral Home, Benson’s Harley Davidson, Bollenbacher & Associates, Burkhart Advertising, Fuqua Automotive, Harris Mechanical, Jay County Beverage, McAfee Recycling, Moser Engineering, Moser Motors, Progressive Office Products and Wampum Hardware.
Also donating items were AMX Motorsports, Blooms Discount, Brandt’s Harley Davidson, Cooks Nursery, Country Creek Primitives, Dick’s Pizza Palace, El Camino, Fastenal, The Flower Nook, the General Store, Great Deals Magazine, Hanlin Auctioneering, Jay Community Center, JaMar, Lee Farms, Locker’s Touch of Country Gifts, Portland Motor Parts, Old National Bank, Pizza Hut, Raymond James, Renegade Customs, Ridgeway’s Ornamental Concrete, Sharlette’s Fudgery & Candies, Southern Michigan Cornhole and Buffalo Wings and Rings.
