City workers have been great
Letters to the editor
To the editor:
The City of Portland workers have done a fantastic job and have done it quickly during the recent snow storms we've had.
Even where we live back out of the way they had us plowed out quicker then I thought. I was up at like 2 to 3 a.m. and heard a noise and looked out the window and there was the snow plow, plowing our road.
Thanks to all you hard workers for the Street Department of Portland for working overtime and taking time away from your personal lives and families just to help dig us all out and making the streets of Portland safe. These guys aren't given enough credit.
Huge thanks to John Clem he never ever forgets us back here on Jaqua Avenue. He's the best worker ever.
Also I noticed the water department people were out there in this bad weather fixing breaks in the water mains. Standing out there in the cold weather to make sure things were repaired ASAP.
These guys are never thanked enough for what they do. All you hear are complaints.
People, take their job during this type of weather for just two days and see what it's like. Bet you'll change your tune.
Keep up the good work.
